Take 10

Give yourself a break.

From everything.

Is the house clean?
What time was that appointment?
Did i get that work stuff done before the deadline?
What will we have for tea?
Are the uniforms washed?
Is it my mums birthday today??!!
What is a fly called if it doesn’t have wings?

Does it ever switch off??

Give yourself a break, get out of your head for a good 10 minutes.

Switch the to do list to silent mode and embrace the 10 minute holding period.

We have soooo much to do in so little time, can you believe we only have 24 hours in a day?! And we are expected to sleep for at least a third of that?!

Craziness. Who ever designed the body clock was straight up ruthless.

Some days are less busy than others, and some days are most certainly more busy, and even though we can feel like we are living the real life Groundhog Day -no 2 days are the same.

They all have a little tweak that makes the next one different to the last.

Example…

Last week, I had the same routine, with the same staple tasks.
Gym. Pre school yelling. Work. Home. After school activities. Post school yelling. Appts. Cleaning. Tea. Cleaning. The Block. Cleaning. Kids to bed challenge. Make school lunches for the next day. Bed. Scroll and Facebook coma. Sleep.

Repeat.

However, on this day, it was different to the last, I stopped into McCafe and treated myself to a latte before heading home from the gym round 7am.
It felt good to give myself a wee treat and that crucial 10 minute break from my every day routine to regroup and prepare myself for the usual morning battle.

My day wasn’t only different due to my sneak eat, but for yet another small occurrence.

Our daily lives are like a pond, it pretty much stays the same, except every now and again, life and fate throw a pebble in the water creating a slight ripple -changing the course and direction of your day.

Upon returning to my car I noticed writing on my back window screen…
*Flash back to the previous day, Aspen (my 13 yr old) is mucking round with the window having a giggle*

My day was different to the last because I had been driving around all morning with a beautiful, heartfelt and meaningful message from my wonderful son.

He lovingly wrote in the dusty window for the world to see…

“Beep For Tits”

He’s just the best -F**k Sake.

It was a win/win I got my break and I got a laugh.

Take 10 and take care of yourself.

You manage to keep your sanity too.

Happy hump day Wednesday y’all

If ya see me round give me a beep #tits
