It’s been a while since our last post but boy have we been busy sorting out things back in the South after the passing of Jude’s dad. Southland it seems is harder to get away from as we found ourselves bouncing like a yo-yo up and down the South Island with either family or business issues always needing addressing. BUT finally we are away again with the only commitment a service for our Moho in Dunedin. Most of our time had been spent in Manapouri or Te Anau with the occasional visit to Otautau and Invercargill for family catchups pre Christmas. Our first stop was spent at Lowburn, Lake Dunstan where we felt like a mothership to all the little slide-vans as they seem to have this herd mentality and parked right around us like ducklings to their mother and the second night at Burtons Creek, Lake Dunstan, Clyde which Jude and I just love as a place to stay as not as not is it a spectacular spot but no cars or vans are allowed to camp overnight. While at Clyde Jude and I decided Jimny needed a good workout along the old Pylon Road between Clyde and Bannockburn, a real good test for the wee 4×4, rough as hell with steep inclines and declines with some good obstacles to get over… now Most if you man truck 4×4,s would probably do fine but to wee Jimny these are big hurdles lol. We are currently now in Dunedin as our Moho needs to be serviced and unfortunately I have a dose of the flue courtesy of my darlingest Jude. We don’t know where we are having Xmas but it will definitely be a quiet one somewhere in the South Island.
