It has been quite sometime since we have put a post up as we have been really busy over the past 6 months… yeah I know sounds a bit pathetic and I have to agree to be honest. Update on my fishing drone… sadly after repeated visits to the Drone Doctors she finally passed away while in the Drone Hospital. The good news is the Drone Baby Stalk is delivering a brand new one at no cost. However its been a hectic and brutal 30 months with the “Covidie thingy” and it has been hard watching as friends and family have been divided by this governments wedge of over reach policies for the renamed influenza virus. Now with that out of the way, what are Jude and I up to? After spending 10 weeks in Motueka from 1st June, watching floods while doing a house sit for dear friends, and because of appointments, we had to make our way south towards home province Southland. The trip home was interesting with many roads closed because of the flood damage we were forced to head south down the middle track on SH-6 to Murchison then cutting south-east across SH-65, east on SH7 through the Lewis Pass before heading north to Kaikoura via Rotherham and Waiau on the Inland Kaikoura Road, was a big day but such a scenic route we didn’t mind. From there we slowly made our way south down SH-1 spending nights in Christchurch, Oamaru and Dunedin before finally getting into Southland. We arrived in Southland early September basing ourselves at the farm at Otautau where we remain until we make our move north to complete a house sit in Cambridge, but while down here a lot of garden work was needed to get veges planted for Tom and Kimberly. Catching up with Whanau was awesome and having a motorhome lifestyle made it easy to park at theirs for the odd weekend. Its now time to leave and do another circuit of New Zealand and I cannot wait to get back on the road, both Jude and I hate overstaying our welcome. Although we have been on the road for over five years and covered over 100,000km we feel we have only scratched the surface of what our beautiful country has to offer and as we love this lifestyle so much, we cannot see ourselves giving this lifestyle up in the near future… yes sooner or later we know we will have to cage ourselves in a fixed abode but while we are fit and healthy we will live by this quote – “We decide on the quality of life, because fate will decide on the quantity” (We will do more posts as we end 2022 and enter 2023)
